Quantify off employability and social well

Employability must be regarded as a concept that is outside the bubble of economic growth. Higher education can not be managed in the labor market, but by the needs of society. Higher education is a human right and, as such, it must be available to everyone.

European Union students, or ESU, recommended that our whole society come together with respect to the development of higher education. There is no single organization responsible for the global development of higher education. ESU see the development of higher education as a puzzle to be completed only when everyone gives their best, unbiased contribution.

Consensus

Current trends in higher education are open debate on the future of higher education, which should be based on a deep discussion about the values ​​and priorities of the society in which we live.

In order to reach a consensus and fair view, it is extremely important to focus on cooperation among all stakeholders instead of discussion about who is authorized to speak on higher education, and who is not.

ESU believes that higher education is a public good and a public responsibility. That's why everyone should have a say in what kind of society they want to build and what they want to acquire higher education.

Students and student representatives are fundamental actors in higher education and contribute significantly to the reform at the local, national and international levels.

At the European level, ESU gathers 13.5 million students, representing 47 national associations of students from 39 countries. These students bring policies and projects and decide on future steps in the development of higher education.

Improving student graduates' employability, or sage, is one of the ESU projects, contributing to the development of policy on employability and promote the independent research and development of teaching and learning in higher education.

Through the research activities of the project, one of them is study, study for graduate employability in Europe will be published in the fall of 2013. This study makes a clear distinction between employability and employment.

Employability is defined as the process of learning, a graduate of achievement and the potential to gain a job, taking care to not confuse the concept with the actual acquisition deal - although the concept and the environment are very dependent.
